I am interested by a J/30 OD start for the Marblehead NOOD.
Week-end OD is unlikely for me: sailing up to Marblehead from Boston every Saturday is a regular full day commitment I have no chance to get from a crew.
I am not sure who else beside Colleen races in Boston area, but why not an OD J/30 in Boston area during the week. Would that be unrealistic to share a start with a PHRF wednesday night - e.g. CPYC - but race (with spinny) and score separately in OD? I did not talk to any one at the CPYC - so this is really just a thought.

Hi Georges,
The Hingham Bay PHRF (Wed nights - www.hbphrf.org) has 3 J30's pretty much every night (Viva, Ruffian, and Margay). I am sure we could keep an informal "one design" score to go with the PHRF numbers that the official scorekeepers have.
We do race with full kit (incl spins), and two off us (Viva and Margay) sail at the OD PHRF 135 rating level already.
Come on down and see us on Wed, love to have more J's on the line.

So just to clarify - what we have done in the past is pick ONE weekend a month to race OD in Marblehead not every weekend. It may be useful to look at the PHRF schedule in Marblehead and pick weekends you can stay over on Sat night and also do a PHRF race the next day.
I think more OD in Boston would be great.

I think we as a group should look more at having events both on the North shore as well as the south shore. I would be willing to talk with Mass Bay about having a season championship. My propsal would be to have an event early in the season in M-head then the noods, them two races on the south shore. This would be the four events for the season with you attending three events for qualifiying. It would be nice to have an event where we meet with the southern group too, but that is for another day. Lets keep up the talk

I like your proposal, even more if one of the qualifying marblehead event that you are proposing is one of the Saturday marblehead racing proposed by David.
A newbie question: by south shore you still mean Mass. Bay right? South of Marblehead? South of Boston?
My wife and myself will be probably more prone to cruising during week-ends, but an occasional one Saturday across the season would still fit nicely. Thanks!
