The database is available for anyone to view using the menu bar off the J/30 Class home page (highlight "Fleets" then "Directory"). You can sort the database according to the menu on the database page. It's a great way to find boats if we keep this current!
Please take the time to verify your entry. You can update your record using the personalized update link that David sent out earlier this year. If anyone needs the personalized update link for their record sent to them, contact either David Erwin using the webmaster link or me using the email icon on this thread.
You'll also find some minor format changes on this J/30 Bulletin Board. You can now navigate back to the J30.org page by clicking the link at the top of the page. You can navigate between the folders using the folder tree icons at the top of any message thread, just as before.
Thanks, Bill Kneller

Please help us update the Fleet database and locate new owners. Since David Erwin made the updates to the database and included a field for "Fleet", I've gone in and assigned many boats to the particular Fleet areas they sail in. I've also contacted various PHRF organizations and received some updated / new owner information.
I'm asking everyone to please look at the Fleet database. This link will display it in order by hull number: http://noyc.org/fleet.cfm?sort=hull You can sort it by "State" or "Fleet" using the menu bar at the top. Here is the info that will help get this updated: 1. Notification of boats you see on list that don't exist anymore (e.g. Hurricane loss) 2. Notification of a boat that is owned by someone other than the individual listed - many of you sail with these other boats that may have changed ownership. Help us get contact info for these people 3. Email addresses and / or Phone numbers - please make sure your own email is current, and anyone else you know has changed. If you don't have an email, but a phone number or address, please let us know and we'll contact them to get current info. 4. Anything you see that is wrong - if you know a boat has a different owner or different boat name, but don't have info on the specifics, that is good info too. 5. "Ghost entries" - there are some entries that have funky hull numbers (e.g. 968 through 59,697) without much information. If you know any of these people or boat names, please let us know. 6. Photos! - There is a field where you can put a URL link to a web page or photo. Show us your stuff.
You can send an email to me with any updates at the link in this message header. We intend to use this database to contact owners about upcoming J/30 events, most notably the 2008 North Americans.
Thanks for everyones help in getting our owners list up to date!

Ok Bill...can't seem to go to that correction link... but the two I do know are wrong, as I sent info to Dave before... #525 is listed with Teresa's name "triple play" because we used that sail at the NAs in Cedar Point. The boat, was owned by Steve here in Florida "Starlight Express" and went down in Katrina. #233 "Cigar" also went down in Katrina. I believe someone tried to resurrect "Starlight" with not much luck...cigar I think was chainsawed.
And I may be picky, but the term "other" does not come close to describing the Virgin Islands... My current email address is jdoe@onebox.com
Hope to see you all sailing in warm waters soon!!!!

Thanks for the updates! I'll make the changes and send you the link for JDoe to the onebox address. Regarding the "Other" designation... Look at the districts defined in the class by-laws http://www.j30.org/2005J30ClassByLaws.pdf and let me know if there is another designation that should be used.
We'll be in STT 26 Dec through 1 Jan. My brother has orchestrated an action packed schedule for the whole family. I'll call your cell when we get there.

An email is being sent to every entry that has an email address asking that the database record be validated and updated. Bounced email addresses are being annotated as such. David Erwin added a TSP number field. Please update your record with this info. If you have a problem with a record that can't be changed, or were sent the link to what is obviously the wrong record, contact either David Erwin or me.
