So OK ... we will have a J regatta in Newport June 15-19.
The Vee Jay 1 mooring will be open for a J30 guest who is an active J30 Class association member. The mooring is off the Ann St. Pier. Weather in June is what we FL people call "marginal" 90% of the time.

Vee Jay 2 will be going out daily depending on crew available ... especially J30 crew. IF IT IS SUNNY! "Thin-Blood" is my middle name.

Vic - NBYA Governor's cup at Ohio Ledge on 18 June. Maybe we can get those Js to sail up to the North end of the bay and race there too! Projected to be over 60 degrees tomorrow. Great day to do bottom prep work...........

Actually if a J30 from "elsewhere" needed an excuse to visit Newport mid June ... they could combine a few days in NPT, a race, and a Historic Moment.

Unfortunately this map of the J area ... also reflects what I consider to be the ONLY decent sailing area in NB. Ohio is somewhere in mid America.

Based on the last time they did this race ... and I think ran over a J24 ... the spectator traffic will be challenging. Somewhat like a J30 Start lasting a couple of hours.
