Hi All, Seems Boat US and my surveyor want my prop shaft and stuffing box hose replaced. Problem is, The boat is in the water. I will need to pull the boat to do this repair. So In preperation, Can I get the prop shaft specs from another 1 inch shaft boat. Exact length, and the Hose ID and OD so I can have them when I pull the boat. I can get the new shaft for $220 and the hose should be less than $10. I hope to do it quickly in the slings. Thanks for your help Wish me luck

Where did you source that?

To all following this thread. The shaft on hull #484 is 46 3/4 in long, 1 in diameter. The Stuffing box hose is 1 3/4 in ID x 5 in long. The cutlass bearing is 1 1/4 in x 3 in.
A very difficult job to replace the Stuffing box hose as it is a very tight fit. The old one was cut off because of age cracking. The cutlass needs to be cut out and new one pressed in with my wheel puller. The stuffing box to hose connection is very tight. As jobs go, this was difficult but at least our J30 has a very accessible shaft area. I then lined up the engine and shaft to <=.001. Smooth running. $221 for shaft, $12.70 Hose, 77.60 Cutless, @ Marine Machining $40 Chicken dinner for 5 @ Chicken Shack.
