Out of nowhere yesterday the engine kill pull will not longer shut off the engine. I know how to take the stairs off and do it manually, but wanted to get this issue addressed.
Is this a common problem? Should I just have it replaced?

check if the cable is slipping where it is connected to the lever on the engine. If so, just tighten the screw that holds the wire and the clamp on the cable sheath.
I fought an internally corroded cable on Rhapsody for a while and just ended up replacing it. Not too expensive, but fixed the problem of being real tight to pull for engine shutdown.
