One more question. The machine shop found a bit of rust on the exhaust valves. He is trying to preasure test the wet exhaust manifold. Is there any other way the exhaust can get water coming back? Not by me overcranking (which may of happened after it broke) but before? Causing the problem? Greg

Well all fixed. Number two piston split. Pulled the motor at the mooring without the head on it and dropped into the Rib. Nova Automotive checked it tested it preassurized it etc etc.... Only had to by piston, pin, clips and gaskets. Put it back in ( amazing how well the main halyard works as a hoist at the mooring) and it fired right up and sounds great. It should after working on injectors, injection pump etc etc.. My i sure do know that little 2GM now!! Oh well raced Sunday and will get a few more weeks out of summer yet. Greg

Greg - I think you outdid me. I used the halyard and dropped the Yanmar onto a home built engine stand while on the hard. Dropping it into a Rib while floating seems like a more difficult task. Congrats and glad to hear of your success.
