Vic, I have always wondered if mast bend through maximum back stay adjustment would impact a sail track. Is it something you would recommend to improve main sail handling for a solo sailor?

Unfortunately 526 is in its cradle as of this morning, so i can't show you how it works ... 505 was done probably 7+ years ago.
After screwing around with various slides for ~20 years ... I am addicted to this black piece of plastic ... And i have noticed it installed on a couple of sail tour boats, where the captain is the only trained crew on board.
in this video from last year you will see a 115 lb 12 year old basically raising a 7.8 oz dacron main which weighs ~45 lb. It takes about a minute to get into the related action.
Notice he is basically just sweating the halyard until the weight of the sail gets to be too much for him, he has no other concerns but just sweating.
when we release the halyard ...duh ... the main pretty much falls down. If however your current main hangs on the backstay this piece of plastic+slides kicks out the sail another inch or so if you convert it.
