The SHOOD Regatta in South Haven was a success. The wind was highly variable, which caused the Race Committee some grief. On the other hand we got in 3 races Saturday and 2 on Sunday.
Even with the skewed courses, Planxty & Hallel showed their speed on Defiant & Temptation.
Bernie on Defiant is extremely generous. We discovered (this being our first J/30 Regatta) that the spinnaker our boat came with is quite undersized. Bernie loaned us an "old" kite of his ( which was in very good shape !). Unbelievably generous. Thanks Bernie.
Also, the other sailors were very inviting, asking me to check out their boats & ask all the tuning & setup questions. Very cool. We are looking forward to coming up to speed and becoming better competitors in the class. It was very fun. Thanks guys for making the trip to South Haven. Hope you all had a smooth trip home. We had two good deliveries.
