I did - the route I took was to buy bulb adapters to covert to a G4 base. Once you can plug in a G4 bulb, there are a lot more options.
We evaluated a lot of G4 LEDs from a variety of sources (home depot, west marine, a few from random eBay sellers) till we found some that were lightweight, bright enough, and a "white" that we liked.
Ended up going with some we got off ebay that no longer appear available.
I'll see if I can dig up the bulb adapter part, but its basically just a little base that drops into the current plug, and has holes for the G4 pins on top.
