thank you Russ, this is helpful, there doesn't seem to be a huge difference between Dacron and laminate.

MAINSAIL
Quantum Fusion M (MC 4000)
Full battened
2 reefs
Includes Numbers, Logo, Draftstripes and Bag.
$3,692*

* 2nd reef and full battens could explain the price difference?

FURLING GENOA 163%
Quantum Fusion M (MC 4000)
Includes Numbers, Draft Stripes, Bag and Dacron Leech UV Protection
$3,196*

* Price difference for genoa could be due to furling?

these are from Quantum's laminate cruising line but likely to be superior to Dacron

V3 Asymmetrical Spinnaker
Includes Bag, no numbers
$2500

Here is my list:

2012 North Radian 7.5 "Class" Main $2583

2011 North A3 Airx700 $1810

2010 North S2 Airx600 $1900ish

2009 North 155% 3DL 600S "Marathon" $2594

As you can see I buy a sail a year to fit my budget. I always order in the fall to take full advantage of North's discounts. The only new class sail I bought for Madcap is the main.

Quotes a got for class sizes and weights where similarly priced.

Our set from North delivered for April 2011 were about the same price as J Hoskins, except the kite was made from Airx 650 to meet Class Rules and the Class #1 Genoa was a 3DL 680 Medium Kevlar/Mylar. Likewise ordered at fall boat show discount, which may be why they were less than the previous North sails from the summer of 2007. North has been consistently less expensive and comes with better bags than sails from our previous loft, which has been a pleasant surprise.

Honestly Darling. I don't know what these guys are talking about. The whole set we recently bought was about $2000. Pardon? Which? Oh yes, the new graphite pole, a couple of hundred...
