LIS J30 Sailors:
The sailing and racing season will soon be upon us. In recent years there has been a decline in J30 One Design racing in our district. Let's work to revitalize our fleet in 2012.
The J30 North Americans Championships (NAC) are scheduled to be sailed in New Orleans in Oct of 2012. The NAC will be hosted by the
New Orleans Yacht Club. The Cedar Point Yacht Club One Design Regatta will serve as the NAC qualifier. What does that mean? Priority will be given to a LIS J30 skipper for the use of a "Loaner Boat" to compete in the NAC. Whether a LIS Skipper competes as well as their results will be considered. Details can be further discussed at a LIS district meeting.
District Meeting:
How about getting together on the weekend of March 10-11? Perhaps picking a location that is convenient for the majority of our District Members. This is not an easy task. The LIS District is from Cape May NJ to the CT and RI boarder. How about Western Fairfield County (CT) or Westchester County (NY)? We have used a local Restaurant/Bar in East Norwalk CT) in the past.
Regattas:
