Just four crew but luckily only about 8 knots of breeze from the SW. Most courses go out to the mouth of the Severn River and return to Spa Creek. This one includes two laps around drop mark A and Fl G "5" and is usually reserved for the Etchells.

Being shorthanded encouraged us to douse to to the right, then gybe set at the second weather mark. Worked out pretty well when the wind veered.

That would only be a good idea if we switched to a J/80 or J/105.
