Hi,

My wife and I made an offer on a J30 that was accepted subject to survey. We are excited to get the boat.
We have to trailer it 400 miles on a trailer that was designed for a different boat, and I was looking for a little information.
I am wondering what the distance up is from the bottom of the keel to where the trailer pads make contact with the boat, the width apart (side to side) of the pads, the distance apart (front to back) and where those pads are in relation to the back of the keel.
Can anyone help??

Thanks,
Chris

Russ - if you can post them on a photo site, or upload them to the photo forum, that would be useful for many. See you at the NAs!

Russ Atkinson sent me a PDF file that has photos of his J/30 Wildcat on the trailer that is attached to this posting. He annotated the pictures with measurements that should answer many of the questions people have asked. Thanks Russ!

Always good to see photos for ideas ...

Recent photo here at J30.us shows Crusader's trailer in New Orleans for the NA.

Looks like it uses doubled 3/4 plywood shaped as done on a cradle, and bolted onto steel supports, instead of the typical adjustable screw pad arangement.

For a long haul I like that support.
