1981 J/30 Hull #365 Feriation - Nyack, NYJ/30 #365 was struck during Sandy and my insurer has determined that the vessel is total constructive loss. I do not intend to bid on the salvage rights. My insurer has advised me that the post casualty value of the boat is between $700 and $1,000. I'm alerting you in case you might be interested in purchasing the salvage rights. I plan to assign the title on January 5, 2013. Those interested should let me know beforehand so I can advise the insurance company of your interest. The boat has hit on the starboard side between the pulpit and the stanchion aft. The boat never sank and the damage was covered promptly to keep the core dry. The boat, currently in a cradle on the hard, could be launched tomorrow and sail away. I would love for the vessel to continue in service. For the right person this could be a great deal. There are many parts which may be of particular value to J/30 owners including spars, sails, freshly rebuilt 2GM with factory installed Sendure fresh water cooling, Hurth transmission, winches, tables, 2010 Lewmar hatches. I will not part out the boat but you may be interested. Deck & HullBlack hull with red cove stripe and double boot top. Grey Deck and non-skid. Lloyd's approved balsa core construction.
