So OK .. I had some problems with the bridle and a Nicopress fitting 6 months ago and decided to just bowline on a piece of spectra. We have a heavy spin program here in Naples over the winter. I'm happy with the results ... minor wear ... but if I have to, I can cut six inches off and retie. While we hear of some slipping on these lines's knots ... none to report.
Also this season we had a shackle holding the main sheet on a F-31 blow and just tied it back on with a piece of Spectra instead of the steel shackle ... worked fine.
Got to keep some of this stuff on board emergency supply kit.

Hi Capt'n Vic, I have Amsteel on my Spinnaker Pole and it is just great, I would highly recommend a little Shrink Wrap on the the knot. This will give confidence that the knot will not slip over time or at that crucial moment. Neil Toy Box Hull 324

I have found that some of the plastic things do not do well in the florida sun so I don't use it. at the ends we tie a bowline with a half hitch at the bitter end and locked into the bowline. So far once that is locked in ... takes pliers to untangle. in Naples we grow pineapples and bananas, so there is a lot of sun ... mid winter is worse than a Newport summer sun-wise.
