As one who visits the J/30 Forum a couple times a week with a bookmark to Active Topics, the cross posting for events like the SNE Region Open Regatta and Weather Seminar are annoying. Instead of variety of interesting topics from the past week I see a screen full of duplicate posts.

I mentioned this to Bill previously and he explained he cross posts to push email to members of Districts within range of these events. This assumes they have left their default notification set to receive email whenever a new topic is created in their District. Personally I think a single post in Events and Scheduling would be preferable. At the very least, once you have pushed email, why not delete the cross post clutter?

Bob,

As I explained previously, all users are setup to receive an email when topics are posted in their district by default. Anyone who wants to subscribe to notifications in the other forums and districts are welcome to, but not every one does. Posting in a particular district forum is a means of automatically emailing users in that district. The district posts do not get displayed on the right side under the "Recent Posts" box.

That is the reason for multiple posts in the district forums.
