After 33 years daysailing on three J/30s, have decided to sell my one owner #505 to get a trailer-based boat more keeping with my current daysailing program. {Now have Vee Jay J/80 located in Newport} Vee Jay 1 was sailed steadily this past winter through end of April. The recent inspection came up with wet core spots in hull ... to offset that unknown quantity I have reduced the price to $12,999 loaded on your trailer.
It is at Naples Boat Yard sitting on stands and can be viewed there with an OK from me, who is 1500 miles north for most of the summer. For someone with access to a trailer this price is below the value of the parts. None of the core problems seem to require more than removal of outer skin and replace core/skin. I would really like to see this boat go back up to the NE fleets.
Vic I hope you do find somebody in one of our active fleets to race your very well maintained and fairly priced boat. If you do, I will miss your helpful comments and observations, and lively video. You have done much to encourage activity in the J/30 Class.

So OK ... I have been 1500 miles away for the summer and had little interest in Vee Jay down here in Naples. So I am basically parting out the boat. The above listing indicates what is left and the package on your trailer now is $10,000.
depending on what interest there is in parts, I will over the winter close out this program.
So OK ... Vee Jay is going on a cruise to Columbia, South America. Loaded on trailer yesterday, driven to deep water freight carrier near Maimi ... and soon to be on way through Cartagena ... New owner is Carlos who plans on sailing on a fresh water lake near Bogota ... or something like that ... my Spanish is not very good ... at all... but we got the boat off the stands and onto trailer and it made the 200 mile trip via Alligator Alley i75 yesterday.
We started with mast on top of the bow pulpit, but it looked like 14'6" at the base of the mast ... so we decided to drop front end of mast to deck level ... and the bow pulpit was now the highest point at 13'6". Next winter I may have to go down there for a Spinnaker Training Camp.
