I'm replacing the cutlass bearing and was going to replace the packing material in the stuffing box. Since I have the shaft out of the boat, I was able to look at the stuffing box knot, it appears that there was no packing material in it only a white nylon washer. I can't imagine this is a dripless seal. Before I added packing flax I wanted to check to see if this might be a dripless or if the packing material was never in there. I never had any leaking. Phantom has a 3/4 inch shaft.
thanks for the help
