Hello all. Searching got me no where, so.. new thread!

Gearing up to deliver our "new" boat from RI to ME and wondering what speed we can make calculations on. Assuming reasonably favorable conditions, can we expect 5.5kts comfortably under power? The brochure claims 6.3kts, but that is probably maxed out for the 15hp.

Anecdotal info regarding RPM and fuel consumption is welcome. We will be bringing extra cans on board, since we may be doing a 200+ mile offshore stretch. The PO said he burned roughly .5gal/hr during his limited motoring.

I've got a few thousand miles delivering various boats up and down the eastern seaboard, but this will be the shake-down for the J30, and the smallest I've made this length of trip with. Hoping for no surprises (though of course there will be!).

Thanks Bill, those are certainly helpful. I guess I worded my queries wrong.
