3 of the 4 bases to the bow pulpit on Radiant #255 have broken off due to a crew using the pulpit to clamber back after an overboard. Has anyone had experience with having the bases re-welded? Removing the bases and taking everything to a welder is my first plan of attack. Anyone ever tried it?

Jeff - I have had bases welded just as you are planning. No problem.

Likewise. I only needed to do one. The challenge is getting it at the perfect angle to be flat on the deck.

I numbered and marked the bases & stanchions as to orientation . Jim Trotta (908-285-9293) flattened the 3 loose bases, removed the running lights & wire (leaving SS wire messangers), welded them from the bottom, welded all from the top and polished the bases all within 2 days - at a very reasonable price! They fit perfectly and are now installed. If you need good welding and great service in North - Central NJ, give Jim a call.
