My boat is on the hard for some repair work. I had the boat yard staff grind out some blisters on the keel. About 1/3 of the way down the trailing edge there seemed to be a void behind the fibreglass. As it was ground out we discovered a hole that had been drilled straight through the keel and left unfilled. Wierd. Anyone else discover this over the years. Any speculation as to what this might have been for? I'll try to upload the picture from my phone to the photo topic.

There are two matching holes in mine just like yours. One forward, one aft. I assume they used them for lifting during manufacturing.

Thanks for the reply Mark. Was there delimitation around the two holes on your keel?

No delamination at the holes. I had some "smile" at the bottom where the glass transitions to all lead. now all done up in G-Flex and biax, hopefully a permanent fix, at least as long as my lifespan is concerned.
