I have gates on the starboard side of my lifelines. Not sure if they were standard or installed later. Hull number #92 1979.

Starboard gate was standard in 1981 ... had on #327. then same, same #505 and #526. Starboard is where the launch pulls up as most launches have controls and operator on port side. ... so ok you slip guys don't understand that kind of stuff.
