Looking to drop my J30, Escapade, into the bay this coming Friday (26 August, 2016) and take it up to Eastport, MD. Currently located at Casa Rio (Mayo, MD), and planning on putting it in the water in the morning.

This is my first boat so having some captain/docking assistance would be really helpful. Also, hoping to start meeting/learning from the J community around here.

Private message me if you are interested, thanks!

my experience is that Cadle creek is rather shallow. Check with the marina's people to get local knowledge of how to get out of the creek into the Rhode River, without running aground.
Once in the Rhode River just follow the government marks and you are good.

Thanks again for all the help and suggestions. We were able to make the trip without any event. As for leaving Cadle Creek here was the local suggestions which were spot on for us.

Leaving Casa Rio:
Opt for high tide, (we left about 3 hrs after low tide and depth meter showed 0.8 to 0.1 ft below the keel).

Leaving Casa's dock hug all the marinas on your starboard no more than a boat length away.

Split the two markers and continue on that heading but do not immediately turn for the two red markers.

Wait until the two red markers are just past perpendicular on your port side then make the turn.

From that point on the Rhode is plenty deep.

Thaks again.
