Congratulations to the Zephyr V2.0 crew for their sixth championship victory, once again proving they can win on any boat given a couple days of prep, sails and gear brought from home, or borrowed from neighboring boats. Cannonball 2.0 sailed a remarkably consistent series to finish second and by my count had five of the same crew who won this regatta on their old boat in 1993.
Eastport's RC was patient Friday to get one race in, then snapped off four quality starts Saturday in a cloudy NE wind of 11-17 knots with gusts early over 20. Sunday morning broke beautifully clear as the breeze moderated to 8-10 knots in the first race, then dissipated in the finale to a spotty 4-6.
Credit for the success of this event goes to Tristan and Shelia Keen, along with the many volunteers involved in measurement, weigh in, and all the social activities. A fun regatta for all.

Hand raised! it was a blast sailing with the Z 2.0 team. Thanks so much to Dave Erwin for organizing the whole event.

Thank you Tristan and Sheila for organizing the insanity that is the J/30 NAs. I was a little overawed as a first time NA competitor, I have never seen so many J/30s in one place! It was awesome to see EYC full of them too. A huge shout out to Dave Erwin of the Zephyr 2.0 team for getting me to get off my soft butt and get my families boat back into racing shape. I had a great time racing with them and I learned more than I could have possibly imagined. As for being the co-owner of a loaner boat, I could not have asked more of them, they left Mondial in seriously better shape than the shape she was in before the Regatta. I could not have had a better experience as a loaner owner.
