As many know Zephyr was struck pretty hard by a Wavelength 24 on 9/19. The insurance company from the boat that hit us has not paid on penny to reimburse repair costs.

The debate is simple. The status of the boat was hit hard enough to produce cracks in the glass on the bow at the boot strike area. Has anyone experienced cracks from a similar accident?

Here are a couple of photos to show the area of cracks. The insurance company says they can not tie these cracks to the accident. We hauled the boat out on 8/25 to pressure wash for a Regatta. The cracks were not present on 8/25. The accident occurred on 9/19. We hauled the boat out and notes the cracks at this point in time.

The insurance has declined the repair of the cracks.

I don't have experience with this sort of cracking in a boat. However, I think the insurance company is taking you for a ride...or doesn't have someone who understands fiberglass watercraft evaluating the boat. If it was me, I would have a registered marine surveyor assess the damage and the probable cause. Of course that's a cost, but the insurance company underwriter will have a hard time arguing their point with an expert report. In my experience with insurance companies, they will settle on a payout to avoid you taking them to court over it...especially if your insurance company is spearheading the legal case.

I don't know if this helps, but I hope that it does.
