David Erwin OP J30.us Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 864 New Orleans, LA, USA	Our J/30 is showing signs of significant electrolysis on the Prop. Our diver suggests a potential bad ground to engine. We do not have any power in harbor since Hurricane Katrina. Any ideas or recommendations? Dave

Russ Atkinson Senior Member Joined: Sep 2000 Posts: 393 Rockwood, MI, USA	We have gone to using a magnesium sacrificial instead of zinc. We are in fresh water so not sure how long it would hold up in brackish water as magnesium is not recommended for salt water

Since the flooding has started the river water is now flowing through the lake causing a fresh water environment. I found this document to be very useful: http://j30.us/images/WhichAnodeMaterial.pdf
