Where are the electrical wires and antenna cable supposed to run after leaving the mast? Currently, mine exit thru a hole about 12 inches from the base of the mast and then go directly into the access compartment next to the potty were the knotmeter/depth sounder transducers and the potty seacock are. Because they go directly in thru the top, I can't really put a lid on that compartment, at least not without putting a hole in the lid. Not a very clean installation. I've noticed that the bottom of the mast has a inverted "V" notch at the aft. Does anyone run the mast wiring out thru that hole? I was thinking of drilling a hole into the side of access compartment and running wiring in thru the hole, that way I could put a lid on the access compartment.
The lid on access compartment has a notch cut out of the back for the wiring to go thru. The wires come out a hole in the side of mast about 3 inches from bottom and then go down thru the knotch and cover fiots quite nicely.C Johnston,Silver Shadow

Aparently, there isn't a standard for the mast wiring. I have two holes in my mast (about 5/8" in diameter each) about four inches from the bottom of my mast. The wires from the mast are led out these holes and into a hole through the side of the access area where the knot meter is. I have a cover over my access area and it doesn't have any holes in it.
