David - I think David Bows used the same brand I have - PYI Inc. Dripless Shaft Seal - look at this link: http://www.pyiinc.com/ You can get the part number for your application by entering the shaft diameter and stern tube outside diameter. Once I got the part number, I found the best price from Go2Marine.com - you may want to do an updated price search.

Ignoring whether this is removing original equipment, my lead has been duct taped so many times it is a complete mess. Looking at their web page, this sounds like a much better answer.
