Carl Sherter ("Fat City") and John McArthur ("Smiles") are sharing the office of National Class President. We are both LIS Sailors keeping our boats at Cedar Point Yacht Club in Westport, CT. Carl has been a class member since the beginning in 1979 and John has been a member since 1992. We are outlining a few of the more preesing class issues we would like to address.

1. We need the help of the class membership to update the database. The database has not been reviewed in about five years. The class has lost tract of many J/30 and their owners.

2. We want to update the class Website. We are looking for a J/30 Class member with computer and website expertise to volunteer to help.

3. We need the current District Governors to contact us and send fleet rosters. The districts that are not represented with a Governor we would like to select a Governor.

4. We would like to revive the class publication (The J/30 Journal) in some form. There has not been a copy printed in the past few years. It should include local and national fleet news and results. Again, we are soliciting volunteers from the local fleets.

We hope to have a 2003 J/30 Class Membership form on the Class Web Page soon. The addition of a Class Measurer Topic on the J/30 Forum is also a short term goal. Members will be able to ask the Class Measurer Larry Christy question and/or rulings about our one design rules. Please feel free to contact Carl or John with any other items.
