J/30 fleet four (Western LI sound) has a fleet meeting scheduled for April 8th, 7:30 pm, at City Island Yacht Club. RSVP. This has been posted to the fleet e-mail list. If you are not getting e-mail from me, please drop me a line, and I'll sort that out.

For those who don't follow our mailing list, here's the outcome of the fleet 4 meeting this past Friday.


1) Fleet four will adopt the new sailcloth rule for the #1 after the Larchmont NOOD. Specifically, the current restriction will stay in place for the districts and the NOOD.

2) The districts will be held at Cedar Point YC as part of the CPYC championship Regatta, at CPYC on July 9th and 10th.

3) We will run the NOOD as a three day regatta for the class. We will be racing on Friday, assuming the NOOD is running races on Friday.

4) Fleet four is going to bid for the 2006 NAs. We will likely bid CIYC as the host club. We will tentatively plan to host the NAs the weekend following the 2006 Larchmont NOOD. (Permitting a very easy two major regattas for one splash/haul for visting boats) In conjunction with this, we will attempt to organize a J/30 start at the CI cup, in early June.

5) In 2006, we tentatively plan to hold our districts at Rairitan YC, July 8 and 9, in conjunction with Raritan YC's Red Grant Regatta

6) The fleet treasury being in good shape, we are waiving district dues this year.
