this is kind of a follow up on the previous post.
I was looking this weekend at at my mast butt position and have no clue if it is correct.
There seems to be no option of moving it aft or forward,
four philips head-screws keep it in place.
I was wondering how far is maximum forward as S.Buzbee mentioned. I could unscrew the mast butt and push it forward about 3/4 inch until the forward edge of the mast butt lines up with the edge of the cabin floor...
any thoughts?

thanks,
Stefan Jans

You should move the mast step as far forward as allowed by class rules for maximum rake. This is 1" aft of the vertical step down in the head. You may want to check with your sailmaker as well, but I believe that works for most sailmakers. This helps balance the center of effort of the sailplan with the center of lateral resistance of the underwater foils.
