I understand that we are required to have numbers on both sides of the spinnaker. Is that true? If so, where does it say that in the rules?

My sailmaker only put numbers on one side of the most recent spinnaker that I purchased. He said that this is the new standard. The J30 rules are not slear on this as it relates to spinnakers. Numbers should be on both sides of the other sails that reguire them.

Joe, I have read the rules. As Dan states, they are unclear about spinnaker numbers. My sailmaker says the same thing, that one is the current norm, but I've heard otherwise. I'm actually trying to find out if there is an existing ruling on this and why.

My spinnaker was measured in at the J30 Nationals in Annapolis, so that might be interpreted as a ruling that it is okay to have one number.
