I'm going to install a Harken roller furler this year primarily to make sailhandling easier for my wife and me when cruising or daysailing. I still have the old headstay with a #5 Tuff Luff. Anyone have recommendations regarding removing the Harken drum versus changing headstays for racing?

pretty easy to take the drum apart ...
not easy to change headstay ... and no reason to do that.....
so you have a number 5 tuff luff and the harken furler is no 6....
I run into the same crap with a couple of my sails last year when I installed the furler . there seem to be quite a bit of miss information out there, in regards to what is what ... If I remeber right the difference between manufacturer A ( tuff luff) and manufacturer B ( Harken) already took care of "half"the problem... the other half ??? I just hoist whatever I have and dont even ( try ) to think about it... so far so good ...
