Just saw Practical sailor review of varnishes. Miniwax Helmspar does just as well as "marine" varnish at half the cost and only needing 2 coats vs other like epifanes 7-8 coats

Nice find. Does it mention anything about long term UV effects? I know this is where Epifanes works very well.

They did a six month study, both reported excellent rention and ephinanes had excelent for color, helmsspar good. My experience with Epiphanes is that it needs recoating after one season.
