how do you racers prep the prop?
just polish it smooth or put something on it?
At the end of the season I always have to get rid of some barnacles with a screw driver.....

I use paste wax as a thick coat but don't rub it off. I also make sure the prop gets scraped with a green scrub pad every couple of weeks. Growth doesn't seem to be bad where I am in Newport until mid July, so it's ok until then. Later in the summer the bottom and prop require cleaning every week.

Would you believe it's a 20 year old can of Johnson's paste wax I had lying around in the basement!

I spray it with about 10 coats of sailcote - let each dry - but this last about 2 months.
