All, We are working on a plan for a meeting in Bristol sometime in Feb. Probably the 5th. Will follow up when scheduled. Just a heads up.

Come join us at the Herreshoff Marine Museum on Friday 5 February at 6:30pm for a tour, pizza and to socialize for the J/30 Southern New England annual meeting. An Evite Invitation was sent out to owners in the SNE District. Please reply to the Evite Invitation so we can plan the right amount of food & drink.

Event details: J/30 Southern New England District (Chatham, MA to & including Mystic, CT)
**Date & Time: Friday 5 February 2010, 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Arrive at 6pm and tour the museum before the meeting

J/30 Class Membership - Bill Kneller
A presentation about the benefits of class membership was provided. Emphasized that the J/30 Class Website at j30.org is a great resource for everyone. Everyone was reminded that class support is encouraged through membership and dues. Annual dues are $50, and can be paid online.

J/30 Board of Governor's Report - Bill Kneller
A summary of the 1 Oct 2009 BOG meeting with topics discussed and votes taken was provided. Individuals desiring more detailed information were directed to the posting on the forum with the meeting minutes

One Design & PHRF Race Opportunities - Charlie Stoddard
A review of the NBYA race schedule was provided. The following events are designated as J/30 SNE One Design:2010 J/30 North Americans - Bill Kneller
A discussion about the upcoming NAs in Marblehead Aug 6-8 2010. The opportunity for a cruise on the way up and back was discussed. Also opportunities for crewing, providing loaner boats, and signing up for the social events. A poll of potential boats racing included: Rhapsody, Nemesis, Falcon, Wicked, Jeanie, and Good News. Good News could be a potential loaner boat.

SNE District Elections
A slate was proposed for elections, and nominations opened. A motion was made to accept the slate as proposed and have the secretary cast one vote to approve. This was approved unanimously.

Hey Mark:

Thanks for the quick turnaround on the minutes of the meeting. Looks like a good turnout. And, congratulations on the election as District Gov.

As soon as the weather breaks, I hope to start working on Mmmmm. No new sails this year...maybe next year, we'll see.

Best regards to Kathy. If I would have known that there was perfume in the raffle, I definitely would have attended!!!

Hi Mark -

Sorry I could not get down to the museum for the class meeting. I just wanted to report that the Arbella team is gearing up for the North Americans and we are adding a new J/30 to the Marion fleet. Now we are two! The new owner is David Corkery (david.corkery@cbre-ne.com). It looks like our best racing will still be under PHRF, but we are looking forward to the summer.
