Congrats to Circus and Chinook for taking 2nd and 3rd in the 15 boat division PHRF 9 at Key West Race Week. That's a couple of long hauls and a lot of work that produced great results!

Thanks for the congratulations, and hats off to Circus for second place. This is definitely a great regatta in an awesome venue. We are planning on going back next year for our third time, and would love to race against more J-30's.

Ed,

Congrats on a really good showing at KW. I noted with interest that a local boat from Toronto (Hot Tamale) raced in PHRF 9. He's petitioning the Lake Ontario Racing Council to be moved to my fleet (PHRF 135-144). Everyone in his OLD division keeps saying he is fast but he didn't seem to fair out well at KW. Did you encounter Hot Tamale on the course? Any insight?

We really did not see much of Hot Tamale on the racecourse. They had one good race in moderate to light breeze and lumpy, but otherwise, we never crossed tacks with them.

I know John McArthur from Smiles on LIS would like to do KW, and he even has a trailer. I believe Night Nurse is in Florida and has participated a few years. While we'll not likely get the same numbers as the J/29 class, with a little cooperation, maybe we can get 5 or 6 boats next time.
