Wer are staring to work to do some spring cleaning to update the fleet database. If anyone has information which would improve or update the J/30 fleet information, please send to dave@j30.us.

Dave has been busy over the 2010 New Year weekend doing software updates on the class database. We're getting ready for the annual email for class dues, and have incorporated some Fleet Database improvements. Here are some highlights when you select "Fleets", "Directory" from the main menu:
The fleet database now displays inside the main J/30 web page so the menu structure is maintained.
Email addresses are links on names rather than long email text fields - helps keep the columns narrower
There are links to a person's forum profile on hull numbers - the profile is only visible if you are logged into the forum, otherwise you get a login screen
There is a link back to your class database record on your forum profile that is only visible by you. It can be used for you to make easy database updates
People who have boat websites have hotlinks to their sites from the boat name
You still have sort capabilities by hull (default), current year class member, name, sail #, owner, state and fleet
Just as before, the camera to the left of an entry is a link for that record's boat picture
A check mark to the left of an entry indicates class dues were paid for the current year. This is annotated either upon receipt of a check, or PayPal payment
As before, only limited information from the class database is displayed to the public
Let us know if you have any questions or issues using the updates to the class database.

I have been having trouble viewing the fleet directory today. Most times I get 'cannot display page'. One time it did come up and when I tried to sort by 'name' nothing came back. Another time it displayed scrambled. Using IE7.
Thanks for your hard work in making this site so much better.

Al,
Dave Erwin and I were online with the ISP all day yesterday and last night. They are having major issues with the servers that have impacted our fleet database. I have an outstanding trouble ticket with them to get this fixed, and will post here once we have it resolved.

The Fleet Database is offline. The Internet Service Provider changed servers and broke some stuff. Dave Erwin has been working with them to get things fixed, because this also broke the NOYC.org website. We'll put out an update when the fleet database is back online.
