Does anybody have an idea how many J 30s were delivered without gates? Was there a serial number or production time or year without gates?

Hull #207 came with one starboard. I added a portside gate.

Blue Meanie #485 has one starboard gate. I believe Fuzzy Wuzzy had a gate but Bengt removed it to improve hiking space and save weight.

I have gates on the starboard side of my lifelines. Not sure if they were standard or installed later. Hull number #92 1979.

Starboard gate was standard in 1981 ... had on #327. then same, same #505 and #526. Starboard is where the launch pulls up as most launches have controls and operator on port side. ... so ok you slip guys don't understand that kind of stuff.

#319 has a starboard gate (Upper, not lower) will be adding in a lower this season however.

Hot Chocolate (hull # 360) has port and starboard gates. We find this very convenient when tying up transient docks. I got lucky, one of the previous owners had them installed. However we are about due to replace the lifelines, and the two gates do make the task a little more complicated.
