If any of you are sick of dealing with rig-rite's attitude and crappy customer service, I think I've found another source for the hard-to-find masthead & turning block sheaves. And it appears they are about half price.

Masthead
DH 002 Sheave
Aluminum, 1-3/4" Diameter, 1/2" Thick, Stainless Steel Bushed for 1/4" Pin or Bolt. (I plan to drill one of to 5/16" I.D. for the inner sheave. the outer uses a 1/4" I.D.)

Base
DH 006 Sheave
Aluminum, 2-1/2" Diameter, 5/8" Thick, Stainless Steel Bushed for 3/8" Pin or Bolt. (I plan to drill this to the 1/2" I.D. needed on my stock 1979 turning block on the mast base)

If you don't like aluminum they have a delrin version that may work
DH 003 Sheave
Delrin 1-1/2" Diameter, 7/16" Thick, Stainless Steel Bushed for 1/4" Pin or Bolt.

Hayn SHRPM07 t-ball plug

I called Rig-Rite to place an order and got the worst service considering I was trying so hard to buy these parts from them. I later called back and cancelled my order vowing to never order from them again.

I have a friend, Don Green who makes sheaves and bushings.

Actually he has been making all sorts of parts lately. His BoomBrake has been featured in Sailing.
Check out his website.

The masthead are the same as the J/24. http://www.apsltd.com/j24-main-halyard-sheave.html Even though it's Delrin you need the bushing too.

Thank you for finding this, I've posted before asking if there were options. Been dreading calling rigrite, they're absolute dicks on the phone.

thanks Bill,

Josh,

They probably would but at 300# SWL I wouldn't be too keen on them.

As an update:

The Dwyer sheaves were as expected and I did have to modify them on my drill press for different bushings. I found 1/2"ID x 3/4"OD x 1/2" long bushings at the hardware store. The 5/16"ID x 7/16"OD x 1/2" were difficult. I found them at an automotive electrics shop. this was the smallest he had and he had the one choice. bu, it was perfect.

I had another, thought-- i can buy a 2-1/2" dia acetal rod a foot long for about $25. I could cut sheaves to my heart's content on a lathe that would fit anything on the boat.

alright, anybody's sheave box have the little sheaves behind the big ones? Where do I find these? I'm missing a "leader" sheave and pin all together!
