With age, my boom front assembly got a lot of play/wobbling... between the boom tube and the front aluminum cast.
I will use SS inserts to deal with the three screws, like Bill suggested in a different thread, but I still need to improve the fit itself. Anyone has already solved this issue - I would say more permanently than HVAC tape/teflon tape or epoxy film?

I am thinking welding thin aluminium line inside the tube - just because welding is fun...but not too rational...
Cheers,

Georges - welding could be the answer but unless you are trained to do Heliarc (inert gas) welding on a thin wall this could be difficult. Perhaps have a thin aluminum sleeve inserted between the boom and the casting to remove the clearance.

Thanks Bill. I start to have a small experience with TIG argon on Laser spars and trailer :-)
Aluminum sleeve would need to be really thin... but I like the general idea to start simple first. I discarded the teflon tape common in the laser class - but then why not... will see how it fares and update.. :-)
