Keel Sump
Something not too many people have seen. A keel sump sans table supports! Those supports are glued in with chop strand. Mine were crazy rotten and it was a chore excavating that crud out.
Note the white painted area around the sump. This is what you see when you lift the cover. The frame of this hatch is bonded with blobs of vermiculite, which you can see by the remains of in the ovals between the stringers on the port side.
Here you can see the roving peeling from the sump. This isn’t well bonded, so its coming out. Also, you can see the aft keel bolt buried way back. This was partially covered with polyester filler, epoxy and laminate, so the bolt rotted. Joy!...
