Our mast is removed and is kept on deck. Above the must, mounted to the mast support framework we run a 2 x 4 backframe down the length of the boat. 1" electrical conduit runs from the lifeline station bases up through the backbone.
We use a 20' x 32' heavy duty gray nylon tarp (like the blue nylon tarps sold at Home Depot only heavier) that we use to cover the boat. Both ends are left open I have easy access from the stern - the tarp covers the sides down almost to the boot top. There is plenty of air flow under the tarp but the snow, rain and ice are kept off of the deck. The current tarp has been used for 6 years and has at least 1 or 2 seasons left on it. I paid less than $100 for it when I bought it. - shrink wrap costs $100 - $400 per year, custom covers cost ???. I put the savings into upgrading to hi-tech mains
Although some store the boats with mast up, I recommend storing the boat with the mast down
