A Message for 2013 J/30 North American Championship Competitors

2013 J/30 North American Competitors,

This is the second in a series of messages that will be sent to help you get you ready for the 2013 J/30 North American Championship ready to race and have fun.

Here's update #2 to help you get ready and check in for the J/30 North Americans.

Sailing Instructions: The SI has been posted on the J/30 North American Championship website under the Regatta Docs menu.  You can view this online, or download the PDF version for printing.  A copy of the SI will be provided in your skipper bag when you check in at the regatta.

Moorings / Dockage: I've received many questions regarding moorings and boat accommodations at BarringtonYacht Club. The arrangements for moorings provided by BYC on a complementary basis July 24th thru July 28th are made through the BYC club manager, Scott Nichols who may be reached via email scott@byc.necoxmail.com or via phone 401.245.1181 at the BYC club house. Call Scott if you need a mooring before or after those days to make arrangements. Dock space at BYC is reserved for the committee boats and transients. Just a reminder that the BYC monitors VHF 68 when you arrive via water.

Measurement: Charlie Stoddard will send out a separate email to everyone regarding scheduling for measurement. The plan is to have a team of measurers available in the BYC clubhouse with the floor marked with tape for critical dimensions to be checked. Once you arrive and check-in at the registration table, you'll be given the measurement checklist and proceed to the main club room with your sails. Charlie will also have multiple teams at the dock to measure boats simultaneously. He'll coordinate the boat scheduling when you bring your sails for measurement.

Food, Meals & Beverages: For planning purposes, here is what to expect. Thursday after the Skipper's meeting there will be snacks for the skippers and limited crew (not intended to be everyone). BYC will also have a cash bar open at the clubhouse. Fri, Sat & Sun morning we'll have complementary self service coffee, juice and bagels out for everyone. Daily box lunches and beverages are the responsibility of each boat. See Skipper's message #1 with info for obtaining box lunches. Fri & Sat for the BBQ and Lobster Boil. Sunday afternoon for the award ceremony there will be light snack platters (not a meal) and BYC will have a cash bar open at the clubhouse.

Registration Table Check-list: Finally for today's message, We've posted a registration checklist that will be used to help guide everyone through the registration and check in process. It is posted on the regatta web site http://j30.us/na2013/ under the "Regatta Docs" page. You can scroll down to read it online, or download the pdf file for printing at the link on the same page.
