J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum The Boat, Sails and Equipment Welding bow pulpit bases back on?

3 of the 4 bases to the bow pulpit on Radiant #255 have broken off due to a crew using the pulpit to clamber back after an overboard. Has anyone had experience with having the bases re-welded? Removing the bases and taking everything to a welder is my first plan of attack. Anyone ever tried it?
