Hello, I have a 1982 J30 Hull #402 located on Lake Champlain, VT that has succumbed to the freeze thaw balsa core hull split from the exhaust intake through hull. This boat has been in the family since new and I have been working on it for the past 13 years since moving it up to VT. It had all new wiring / electrical installed by a master Electrician back in 2003, the bottom and keel were completely redone (moot point at this time) back then as well. The boat has a new dacron Mainsail (2011) with full battens and very little use. New Rudder back 2011 by Rudder Craft out of Idaho. New Cushions back in 2007 which are always stored off the boat in winter. I am looking for someone to either take the whole boat for parts or as a project boat, I had a fiberglasser look at the repair and estimated it at $8k +/- to do it right (remove entire back starboard quarter of the hull and rebuild it.
Looking for offers... can post pics of damaged hull but needless to say the crack allows you to look in and see the wet balsa core (no damage on interior fiberglass)
