J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum The Boat, Sails and Equipment Hull repair

I just purchased a j-30 hull # 195. Did the j-30's come with gel coat or a painted hull? I also have some damage to the outer skin of the hull. I would like some info on how to repair this. It seems to be just some cracking of the outer skin. I do not see any damage on the inner hull.
