J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum The Boat, Sails and Equipment V-Berth Shelves

Morning all,

I"m contemplating on removing the vbert shelves (The plastic molded shelves that are on the port and starboard sides above the vberth). Has anyone done this? Are there any draw backs. Did you replace them with anything (Hammocks for storage for example)? The ones in Wings are looking their age a bit.
