One of my hopefully down the road projects is dealing with my boom, which has a slight bend in it at the tang for the vang. It needs to be dealt with, but not before I put this boat back in the water soon. I think sleeving a bent boom would be very challenged. I was just looking at it and it would seem that all I need is the aluminum extrusion. Transferring the hardware does not seem like it would be overwhelming and I have the monster rivet tool and all the required tools short of welding equipment. So is tracking down this extrusion easy or hard? Is Rig Right my only option? I can also look for a used boom. Is the extrusion commonly available here on the west coast?
