I have read the pieces on the spreader problem and decided to call a couple of the rigging companies mentioned. One of them told me that the easiest fix was to drill out the middle rivet of the spreader brackets and insert a threaded rod through the holes with an angled spacer and nut on each end. He told me he has seen "0" failures with this fix. Has anyone out there tryed this approach? Results?
